Color varies from golden tan to a reddish brown; Grain is interlocked, with a medium texture and a waxy feel. Difficult to saw. High density. Very durable. Used for flooring, cabinetry, furniture, heavy construction, docks, railroad ties, bearings, handles, and other turned objects.
